Shane slept late. That was a general rule recently, not just a one time statement, and so when he checked the clock and it said that it was half twelve in the afternoon, he wasn't too shocked. Shane pushed the covers back after a few minutes, and went through the general morning routine. Shower, because it was luckily free, then drying off, pulling on some boxers and some sweat pants, and then letting his bare feet carry him down the stairs. Next on the list was coffee, and then breakfast. He really fancied some fried eggs, so he put the coffee pot on to start, and then pulled two eggs out of the basket. Before long, one of the rings had a frying pan, laced with oil, sizzling away on it. He cracked the two eggs in the pan and let them cook, taking that time to pour his coffee and take a sip. He wondered what Claire was doing, but he knew better than to try and stop her from doing whatever she wanted anyway. She was stubborn like that, and she'd just go ahead and do it no matter how many times Shane told her it was dangerous.
But that kind of made her hotter, in the rebellious way, even if it usually became a giant pain in Shane's ass when he had to get her out of trouble. She got him into her fare share of trouble too, being the jail bait that she was. Although he liked to tell himself that it was him that always got her out of all the trouble anyway, but truth was that it tended to be him just putting the trouble off for a bit and getting himself into even worse trouble doing it. Shane was the resident trouble magnet. Michael was the resident bloodsucker, Eve was the resident crazy person, and Claire was the know it all, but he loved them all anyway, even though Michael was now one of the un-dead. He still hadn't really accepted it, he just went along with it and pretended that it hadn't happened, because that was how he liked to deal with things. Ignoring it, faking it, putting on a brave face, and then usually playing video games. Shane flipped the two eggs over and quickly buttered two slices of bread, then carefully made a nice, double egg sandwich. He would have cooked bacon too, but he just couldn't be bothered.
There were some things that he cooked better than others, and eggs was one of them, but the thing that he cooked the best was, and always would be, chilli. He was the chilli king, and everyone in the house knew it. He liked his extra hot though, so he had to add some stuff to his that the other four couldn't handle. Weak. Not even the vampire would go near Shane’s own chilli, but then that was probably because he added so much garlic into it that it would fry him from the inside or whatever. He’d had to start making special garlic free chilli for Michael, because even his normal chilli had hints of it. That sucked, because it meant he was making three lots really instead of one. Stupid extra work. Speaking of work, Shane still hadn’t got himself a job. He had to look harder or the police would come a knocking again, because he was sure that the state got their fare share of money from the working residents. And he’d not paid his ‘tax’ recently either, meaning that he was gonna have to sort that out soon before they pulled him over for that too. With half the uniformed policemen being members of the un-dead too, it was kinda hard to catch a break in this town.
He served up his sandwich on a plate and moved through to the living room, then slumped down on the sofa and began to eat. He heard movement on the stairs though, and figured that it would probably be Claire. Eve was in work, Michael was busy hiding from the light, so that just left the brainbox left. He tossed a look over his shoulder to see if he was right and grinned, then swallowed the food he had in his mouth. ”Hey there, Jailbait, what’s up?”
he asked offhandedly, not really getting the vibe that something was wrong.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGING TAG* ! WORDS 731 ! WEARING CLOTHES ! NOTES CUTENESS! ROUND TWO. Claire was waking up in a daze, she didn't get a lot of night sleep last night, her hair was a mess sticking out in every angle possible, her makeup was running down her face she knew why she forgot to take her makeup off and cried herself into a messy sleep. Fighting around with her bed sheets that were now tangled up on the bed, her pillow was on the floor she must of kicked it off in the night when her dreams started to haunt her a feeling inside of her was sickening and felt worst than she has in her life she didn't really understand why it was happening tonight but it was the first night in months she slept alone without Shane.
It was late for Claire to be waking up at this time when the clock just beeped onto 1pm, her eyes grew wide when she caught her reflection of the mirror she winced. She grabbed a pair of jeans and a top from her chair she layed out for her and checked out of her door quickly before running to the bathroom quickly, she was wearing one of Shane's tops that was like a dress on Claire's small figure and a pair of girl boxers, something she didn't want Michael or Eve to see her in. Getting into the bathroom Claire stripped from the top that smelt like Shane making her heart beat fast, she got into the shower rinsing herself, as the water fell she felt sick bubbling up inside of her, stopping herself from throwing up Claire washed her hair and got dry, getting dressed. Leaving her hair wet and messy unlike Claire she stumbled down the stairs her face didn't look to happy nor normal.
Claire didn't feel like eating she looked towards the door for the kitchen but didn't intend to go into it, instead she went fully downstairs hearing Shane's muffled voice talking to her she nodded "Hi" she sighed and slumped down on the chair that was big enough for Claire and Shane but it was opposite Shane to the side of him, she didn't know why she sat down there and not with Shane. Her eyes unfocused looked at the TV as she pulled her knees to her chest keeping her calm, she knew she wasn't well but she didn't want to go out today.

Her hair was wet. That was the first thing Shane noticed when his eyes finally caught up with the rest of his body, and he started feeling fully awake. He was willing to bet that it was the taste of the coffee in his mouth and the feeling of the food hitting his stomach that had woken him up, but that didn't matter, what mattered was that Claire usually dried her hair after her shower, regardless of whether she was staying in the house or heading off to accidentally get herself into trouble. That was the first sign that something was up, but then again, it was quite possible that she was about to go and dry it but she decided to come down and get herself a drink first. He dismissed it as that, but then watched as she slid into the chair. She didn't look herself. That was the second thing that he noticed. She looked less bouncy and positive. She looked as if she just wanted to sleep the day away.
She looked like she needed to sleep the day away. She'd not wanted to sleep with him last night, and he just dismissed it as her trying to make some peace with Michael, who wasn't all to happy with what was going on between Claire and Shane. She was jailbait, remember? Michael probably saw it as him protecting Shane by silently hating on their relationship, but Shane was happy, and Claire usually was happy, so he didn't see a problem. All he wanted was a decent chance at something, and Claire had given that to him with this relationship. He was happy that she'd trusted him enough to let him into her life like she had, and she'd in turn become a huge part of his life. He'd seen some spirit in her from the first time she'd turned up on the door with that shiner on her eye. He later found out who'd gave her that, and wanted so bad to give Monica one to match, but Shane didn't hit girls. Not even psycho bitches like Monica Morell.
And then he'd missed the obvious. There was plenty of space on the sofa next to Shane, and Claire would usually jump at the chance to snuggle up to him. Not that he'd ever use that term out loud, because snuggle was such an un-manly word that it was unreal. It was like the anti-Christ to manliness' Jesus. That made sense in his head, but he was sure that if he said that out loud no one would get it. Whatever. Anyway, the point was that now he knew something was up. She'd not told him anything about what was up, and it seemed that this question that he'd said as a mere conversation starter was more important than he realised. The sigh told him that there was something seriously up. Oh, man, what had she done this time? Shane finished the last few bites of his egg sandwich quickly and then balanced the plate on the arm of the chair.
He rose from his own seat and slid into the seat next to Claire and threw his arm around her shoulders. "What happened this time, Claire, did Eve try and force you into full Goth gear again? I'm still pissed that I didn't get to see it the first time"
he joked, remembering Michael's recount of how Eve played Barbie with Claire before they went off to the dead girls dance. He was pissed about that night, but for very different reasons. For one thing, he was still pretty pissed that he'd spent it in a cage, and for another, well, he'd heard stories about the party and he was about ready to hunt down that dick that tried to touch Claire. Whatever it was that was bothering her, he just wanted to know so he could do something about it. "Monica didn't say anything to you, did she?" he asked with a frown. Last thing he knew, she'd not, but he wanted to be sure because if she was hazing Claire again, he was going to stop it. No, not hazing, it was way past that now, after all that had gone on it needed it's new word to describe it.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGING CLAIRE ! WORDS 716 ! WEARING CLOTHES ! Noticing that Shane was staring at her made her feel un-easy with herself, more self-coucious about herself even if it was Shane who she usually was with it scared her to know what he was thinking. She didn't even know what was wrong with herself never mind what people though, flicking her eyes over to Shane's figure she saw him looking still maybe he didn't understand how Claire was right now, never mind she didn't understand either. Breath, Claire she told herself as she felt the sick rising from her stomach to her mouth she winced away to look at the bookshelf something still and not making her feel like this right now. "Mmm" was all that came from her mouth right now. After she felt the sick go she turned back to the TV, the silence wasn't comforting, nor was how tight her knee's were pulled up to her chest by her arms.
Releasing her knees with her hands that was now shaking she heard the movement of Shane rising, placing his food on the arm of the chair, which would probably fall sometime soon onto the floor, but she didn't care right now, she would if she wasn't feeling like this. As Shane moved around she felt him slid down next to her, with him on the chair with her there was less room. Shane's are went around Claire's shoulder as it calmed Claire's shaking down a little she closed her eyes for a moment as she stayed completly still, then settled into his chest. She knew he was worried about her, he always was it was like it was Shane's job to be, listening to his heart beat with her ear pressed against his chest she stayed silent.
The quiet was broken by Shane's voice "What happened this time Claire?" which made Claire shake her head "no, Eve's fine. Im fine" she told him, it was a lie. Claire obviously was not fine, her body was shaking, she had a sickening feeling inside of her, worry and confusion and last of all she knew she was late on her period, but she didn't think of anything of that right now. Maybe that meant nothing, happens to people. Right? Claire winced lifting her head and meeting Shane's eyes with hers at his comment "No, you did not want to be there Shane" she said quietly, unlike Claire. Again Claire shook her head "Its not Monica, its nothing Shane, i am fine" she told him, a lie. Maybe it was just the flu? maybe she just needed more sleep who knows?

Oh God, she couldn't look at him. Shane sighed and cast his mind back over to anything that they'd said to each other, trying to pinpoint the reason why she was being like this. He had to have said something that upset her, and he had to work out what it was that he'd said, or in fact, what he'd done, so that he could fix it with her. After all the shit that they'd been through, he wasn't going to let something stupid break them up, even if he did feel like slipping off back upstairs and sulking. Maybe he could do that and just ask Michael to talk to her later and then- no. Michael, Shane's best friend, was a bloodsucker, and Shane still wasn't on the best terms with him. He wasn't all that accepting about it, and although he tried his best to act normal, there were certain things that he just couldn't act over to hide. Like when Michael was around Claire, Shane was always on edge, making sure that he never tried to hurt her. If Michael ever did something to hurt Claire then Shane wouldn't be able to forgive him, he'd want to freaking kill him for starters. He kept going to mentally call him a bloodsucker, trying to get into the habit in case he did have to murder his best friend, but it just didn't seem right, branding Michael with that term.
It wasn't like he was your average bloodsucker. But then what was average about being an un-dead idiot? Nothing really, although it seemed that there was plenty of them wandering around, soon enough they'd become the majority, and then that statement would slowly become untrue. He was not going to let that happen though. That was why they'd left Morganville. He couldn't stand living there with the un-dead cops and the un-dead coffee shop owner and every other damned un-dead thing in that town. The memory thing hadn't exactly worked, but maybe that was because of Michael, he was a link to the town and that kept everything clear. Besides, they'd been through too much crap there to forget it all. Damned bloodsuckers had to mess up everyone else’s lives. He pulled her closer when Claire leaned into his chest, and he pressed a kiss to her hair, then leant his chin lightly on the top of her head for a moment. "Yeah, er, no offence, Claire, but 'fine' isn't exactly the term I'd use. Or at least not in that context"
he joked slightly again, trying his best to ease the mood she was in. Whatever had gone on, it couldn't be good at all. She was shaking when he held her first, that was never a good sign. Nor was it a sign that she was fine. She didn't even laugh at his goth Claire joke, now that was unheard of. "Damn Claire, don't lie, I know something's up, okay? You're not yourself, your shaking, and I may miss a lot of things, Claire, but I noticed that you could barely look at me earlier, now you will tell me what's up, or I'll... make Eve play Goth girl Barbie?" he threatened lamely, unable to come up with anything good that he could use against her. She was just too damn good. She was a brainy kid. "HA! Got it, tell me or I'll hide all of your books. All of them, I mean it" he said smugly, knowing that studying used to be real important to her and so taking her books away would stop that, and then she'd not be impressed. "Come on Claire, don't be a dick, tell me the truth" he added, wanting to know what the hell was wrong. Maybe 'dick' was a strong word, she had the right to keep her secrets if she wanted, but as his girlfriend, she should tell him things. He didn't like feeling out of the loop. Claire kept her head up off his chest but still cuddled up to him, he was already making her feel better her mind wasn't on the fact she was ill it was on how hot her boyfriend was and that she wanted him. "Shane i just think its the flu" she said to him shrugging her shaking shoulders, she knew he was worried as he pestered her with the questions that he wanted the answer too, she had no idea what was wrong with her and right now she didn't want to argue with Shane, feeling as if stress could be even worst for her. "I don't know, yes maybe i am not fine but i don't know okay? I was sick and i have a banging headache, which didn't help when Michael and Eve was having a blow out shouting argument last night" she said and touched his face with her shaking hand and sighed "I can't seem to not stop shaking, it wasn't like when Amelie was in trouble and i went cold, its different" she told him looking away from his eyes.
She knew in a way that Shane didn't trust Michael, his best friend yet also a vampire, but if you had the choice to stay prisoner of your own house forever, fading at sunrise and alive at sunset would you really want to live that way? Claire was the first one to find out that Michael was a ghost, not long after Shane and Eve found out, freaking about that. When Michael decided to become a vampire he knew them consequences and Claire understood that she understood what he was doing, he had to do that to have his freedom. Though it scared the hell out of her if Michael would turn to a blood thirsty vampire, but he was like an older brother to Claire and she loved him, not how she loves Shane it was how she loves Eve.
Claire smiled faintly at Shane's comment about Eve making Claire her goth Barbie doll "Urgh, she is not getting her hands on me not after everything i have gone through, the dead girls dance for the first example" Claire pointed out sighing, she hated talking of that dance, the chance them lads Ian and his silly friends decided off Monica's order to give it Claire 'Rough', luckily Claire had a good aim swinging the bat and Sam, Michael's grandfather helped out saving Claire who was drugged. "Leave my books alone Shane" she said hitting him with her little strength with a little laugh, he was brightening the mood up for them both. She winced when he called her "Ouch, thanks Shane" Claire said shaking her head, letting her little figure move from where she was sat with Shane and onto her feet, she grabbed his finished sandwich off the arm of the sofa and walked into the kitchen, she didn't feel like fighting with him right now but that wasn't called for.

Feeling sick? Headache? Flu? The flu was the contagious one, right? Did that mean that there was every chance that he'd caught it already? Heck yeah, free time off work! Hello, sick pay! Although of course he'd be really sick, not faking it. Not that he ever faked illness to score bonus paid days off work whenever he felt like it. Clearly. And obviously he'd not perfected the throaty cough for such purposes as to phone his employer either. Anyway, he was more worried about whether Claire really was alright. "The flu's bad, maybe I should, take you to bed?"
he offered, half jokingly, and he over emphasised the suggested waggle on his eyebrows just to try and make her laugh a little. "All they seem to be doing is arguing. Although, I bet they get to have loads of make up- never mind" he finished, colouring his cheeks slightly at the thought of Eve and Michael. Man it was so wrong to think about that. Good on them and everything, but at the same time, he'd never have thought that Eve would have become a fang banger. Sure, it was Michael, and he was, well, Michael, but he was still a vampire too, and so that did mean that Eve was exactly that, a fang banger. He'd always thought that they'd be people who intentionally went out to hook up with vampires because they got a kick out of the vampire biting them, but it seemed that wasn't always the case. Eve would never intentionally go out and look for some fangtastic fun, and if Shane ever caught wind of her doing that then he'd be pretty pissed at her, that's for sure. He'd even try and intervene on her own behalf, because she wouldn't want that, really, would she? But then wasn't it the same thing, kind of, they were all hopping into bed with vampires, regardless of they knew them or not. No, wait, wasn't the same thing, because Eve was jumping into bed with Michael. Now he felt a little uncomfortable for thinking a little too much about his two best friends sex lives. Shane growled slightly as he remembered the stories of what else went on at that dance. That stupid bitch, Monica, had put Claire in danger again, this time with a bunch of boys. Had Shane been there he'd have ripped them limb from limb before they could even touch her, but of course, Shane was otherwise occupied. I.E: Shane was in a cage. Literally. A cage in the middle of founder square, where he was facing death by being burned alive. Man he wished he'd have been at the dance instead. "True, although it would be hot to see you in Goth gear. Although you look hot in everything. Dangerously hot. Maybe interesting is the word." he teased, somehow unable to imagine Claire in black fishnet tights and some skirt or something, because it just wasn't her thing at all. He chuckled slightly at her feeble punch and grinned as he heard her laugh. "Oh come on Claire, you used to live in Morganville, the vampire capital, and you punch like that? You need to put some more force into it I think" he joked, grinning easily. He didn't mean on him, just in general. He didn't want to get punched by a girl and like, cry or something. Ahh, the dick comment had been a little too much then. He'd just got used to throwing that word around, especially at Michael and Eve, although it was always kind of joking, and everyone knew that they didn't mean it when it was used. Apparently Claire had forgotten that fact. As she got up he tried to catch her around the waist but she moved away before he got the chance. Shane heaved a sigh and pushed himself out of the chair and followed Claire into the kitchen, his bare feet absorbing the cold of the floor. "Oh c'mon Claire, you know that word doesn't mean anything around here, it's just another word in this house." he reasoned, leaning against the doorframe and watching her with a frown. "I just worry about you. I can't lose you Claire." he murmured, looking at his feet for a moment. He was embarrassed by saying this, guys didn't do emotion well, especially not talking about emotion! And after he'd lost Lyssa, well, he couldn't bear to drag himself through getting over her. It would be torture, and with the amount of danger that they always got themselves in, he knew that one day there was a chance that they wouldn't be lucky, and that someone could die. He hated the idea of it being Claire. Heck, he hated the idea of it being Eve and even Michael too. He may not trust the live-in bloodsucker, but that didn't mean that he wanted Michael to kick the bucket. But of course that was because of the fact that Michael was their best hope in a crisis, not because Shane loved Michael like a brother or something because that just wasn't the reason, at all.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGING CLAIRE ! Claire knew what Shane was thinking of, time off work something that Shane would enjoy apart from being ill and knew if this was the flu he would end up catching it and to Claire should would rather have Shane safe and working for some money, he needed to get saving he wanted a car he can save up for one though Claire has lots of money saved up, Amelie payed her properly the right amount of money making sure Claire was fine and she was. ”Shane im fine” she told him then sighed, yeah he was right maybe she wasn’t fine as her stomach flipped over a few times. ”Your not catching this if it is the flu, its not healthy and anyway it wouldn’t be fun both of us ill” Claire told him, it was the truth it wouldn’t. Though knowing she was ill she still was well enough to ‘mess’ around with Shane, her room or his was the usual places of action apart from last night, it was weird not sleeping next to Shane, waking up and him not being there it made Claire upset and not safe. ”Better things than sleeping” Claire grinned at him.
Hearing about Michael and Eve arguing it make’s Claire upset she didn’t like knowing about their arguments, she knew that Eve was upset a lot because she thinks that Michael will leave her one day since he’s getting somewhere with his music with all these other girls after him, but hey Claire couldn’t doubt it, Michael was hot. ”They will be okay soon they always are” which was right, Eve and Michael argue but then they are fine, making out going further than that. Shane’s reaction made Claire laugh ”Well only because you didn’t get any last night” she pointed out, though it wasn’t something that Claire really didn’t want to think about either, even with knowing that it goes on its not a nice thing to think about, her best friends in bed together. Claire shook her head getting that thought from her mind then looked at Shane ”It happened cant go back on it now, at least Sam was there when I needed help” she told Shane, ”Well im always hot, kidding” Claire grinned and laughed. ”Sorry bit weak here” she pointed out to him about her punch to his chest, it wasn’t like Claire’s normal punches she just didn’t have much energy to hit or anything right now.
As Claire was in the kitchen putting Shane’s not eaten other sandwich in the bin and the plate in the sick, to keep her occupied instead of stopping to look at Shane who has pissed her off right now Claire started with washing the pots making sure she didn’t look at Shane at all right now all Claire wanted to do was cry. Even with this awful feeling inside of her she wanted Shane, but crying sounded like what was going to end up happening at this moment. Hearing Shane speak to her she shook her head ”It still wasn’t a good thing to say Shane” she told him, back to him and cleaning each pot as the tears fell from her eyes, concentrating on the pots she didn’t want to look at him right now. Claire knew that Shane was still in the kitchen probably staring at her she stopped and dropped the pot she was holding in the sick which smashed and broke, cutting Claire’s wrist but her vision wasn’t clear the tears were blurring her eyes ”Shit” she hissed, it was stinging and there was pot from the plate in her wrist, blood exiting her. ”You wont loose me” she shook her head ”I wont loose you” she told him. She knew that Shane was more bothered about death, he couldn’t cope if one more person he loved died, she knew he didn’t like showing emotions but right now Shane was right one day something bad is going to happen, and in a way Claire thinks it would happen to her, she would rather it happen to her than Eve, Michael and mostly Shane.

SIt wouldn't be fun? Huh, she was thinking more about that than he thought she would. After all, wasn't it meant to be the guys that thought of sex like once every three minutes or something? He didn't do statistics well unless it was about surviving things. Like for instance, there was a one in three chance that they'd survive Morganville, and they'd done it, and managed to leave. Okay, so he didn't do figures at all and that whole one in three thing was totally made up on the spot, but it sounded good. Maybe Shane should think about acting. After all, he'd managed to convince himself that those odds were real ones. In his mind. Maybe acting wasn't for him. Anyway, it was unstable, and he wanted a car, and a steady job like the one he had at the moment would allow him to keep his savings in check, and he would get a car soon, he was sure of it. As long as he didn't blow it all on Xbox games. "Fun, huh, what fun have you got in mind?"
he asked suggestively, wiggling his eyebrows slightly and then laughing a little. Ah, so this was why she used to be his jailbait. Heck, he would do it all again, even if it meant going to hell, never mind jail. But then he was probably going to hell anyway so it made no difference there. And there it was again, another sexual reference, that was two in the space of a few moments. He was getting to be a bad influence on her. "Wow, I think I've finally done it. Corrupted the innocence, don't tell Michael, he'll kill me" he teased easily, feeling that little disappointment in the pit of his stomach as he realised again that his best friend could very well kill him easily. He missed Michael. Like, human Michael. Or ghost Michael or whatever. At least he was still half human then. Shane knew that Michael and Eve's arguments were never a definite ending to their relationship. They were always back on track soon enough, and nothing would change that little argument routine. For instance, they'd always be back to normal and joking and kissing again soon enough, even if the argument had been huge and could be heard down the hall by Shane and Claire. It was an awful turn off though, hearing the raised voices of your best friends. Whatever. "I know. They argue, they make up, they argue again, they make up again. It's the making up part that's even more odd to think about though" he joked, trying to keep things light-hearted. He didn't want to think about them arguing either though, but it was fine as long as he kept reminding himself that they'd be fine again soon. Sometimes he did think that it could be better for Eve if he and Michael did break up. That way if he ever put her in danger it would be easier for her to leave with Shane and Claire, and go somewhere safe. He faked an offended look at what she said, and bit back a remark that was something like 'or so you think' because he knew it would probably just piss her off, and he didn't want to be the one to bring the mood down, although he tended to be good at that sometimes, saying the wrong thing and letting everything go into a downward spiral. "You shouldn't be kidding with the truth" he replied easily, knowing that she was always hot. There was a reason that she was his jailbait after all, but her personality just added to the whole thing. "Well then you're lucky to have a strong boyfriend to keep you safe" he teased, smiling happily. If she was ill, it would make sense for her to be low on energy and therefore weak anyway. It was clear that he'd done it again, said the wrong thing and started the downward spiral. He'd really pissed her off, it seemed. "I know, and I apologise, I didn't mean it and you know that. Can we move on?" he asked, pouting slightly in the hope that she'd not be able to resist his puppy dog expression. He didn't like it when she was mad at him, it made him angry with himself for saying something that wasn't thought through, and that was stupid and immature and not funny. Shane heard Claire's curse, and he rushed forward, his face scrunched into a frown as he spotted the blood on her wrist. His hands moved fast to grab the towel that was sat by the side of the sink, and he pressed it immediately to the cut. He'd have to like, burn that later, or something. Wasn't like he could leave a bloody cloth lying around when there was someone in the house who liked blood, and not in the sadistic murderer kind of way, although Shane was sure that there really wasn't all that much difference between a sadistic murderer and a blood sucking person. After all, the people that were their victims usually ended up the same way, right? Shane knew that the vampire society of Morganville had a whole blood bank thing going on, but he was pretty sure that Forks didn't, and that meant that any human being within a foot or two of Michael was a walking blood bank, and that worried Shane. Sure, he didn't want to see anyone die or anything, especially not anyone he loved, but he also didn't want to see his best friend turn into a murderer because of what he was. Michael would hate himself for it, sure, but Shane would have to hate him even more, and if he ever attacked and killed anyone, Shane would take Claire, pull Eve away and go. He'd have to keep them safe, he couldn't let them be near Michael when he could hurt them, or worse, and he knew in his heart that Michael, his best friend and human Michael would agree and would have probably handed Shane some car keys so he could get them all away. Vampire Michael, well, that was probably a different story. That was another reason that Shane didn't like Claire sleeping on her own. Not only did it feel odd, waking up without her beside him, but he couldn't protect her very well if he wasn't in the room with her. What if Michael got hungry in the middle of the night, and the lure of sleeping Claire's blood was too much? Shane couldn't even think about it, and was just glad that the guy wasn't around now, because he'd go mental with Claire's blood stuck under his nose, and then Shane would have to go all heroic and kick the crap out of him. All in the name of heroics, after all. "You okay? You need to be more careful, you know what could have happened, especially if Michael was around. Are you crying?" He cautioned. Shane, ever the charmer, always knew what not to say in a situation like this. "I didn't mean to upset you Claire, I'm just an ass, you know what you signed up for, I guess it runs in the family" he murmured, slouching against the counter, still cradling her wrist. His dad was enough of an asshole for them both though, and the next three generations of Collins'. Well, if Shane every felt that way inclined. He'd never thought about kids, especially at his age, and especially when they called Morganville their home, because he'd never want to bring a child into that place, when the vampire cops were happy to see a child burn alive in a house, just because of the girl that set the fire, or practically did. He didn’t answer to her next words, he didn’t know what to say to that, because although they were out of Morganville, there were other dangers all around them, and he knew that losing her was a very real possibility, be it through death or because she got sick of life with him and moved on. He wouldn’t blame her. He would never blame her for anything.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGING TAG* ! WORDS SOME ! WEARING CLOTHES ! NOTES CUTENESS! ROUND TWO. EXCITED !
